ORIENTATION: JAN INTAKE 2013

Had to reach college before 7am for THREE days. Gah. Sad life of a student council member.

We helped out as ushers on the first day to make sure the 1301s don't lose their way. I kinda enjoy the feeling of being a senior and a part of the college. The 1301s were a BIG group. They were like maybe three times the size of my cohort? The auditorium could not comfortably fit all of them. So the Ausmats had to go to the Chapel and we did a video transfer thing. Can you imagine how pack is Pre-U society gonna be like with all the cohorts?

On the first day, we had to stay back to help out with the treasure hunt. One of questions was about coming to us and let us give them marks based on their attire. I loved that part. Haha. We had fun with the students by giving them different tasks like citing our names and posts, singing songs...etc. I don't know whether the students think that we're evil, but I hope that they understand that these are just a process everyone had to go through during their orientation. I remember being given tasks like this too but it was just a simple one like finding out two of their names. I guess we're just a lil bit more 'fun' than the previous council. Haha.

We introduced ourselves to the 1301s on the second day. Many of them still don't understand how the student council functions. Just like me when I first came to MCKL. I didn't understand a thing about this until orientation camp is over. I'm glad some of them have already have that desire to become a student council member.

We made them wear school uniforms on Friday morning. Those who don't have school uniforms have to either borrow from their siblings/friends or wear their clothes inside out(of course, this doesn't include their inner garments). Their cohort were considered very fortunate cause their morning games was only a day. I remember for my cohort we had to wear school uniforms on the first day and our clothes inside out on the second day. I was expecting the Jan intake to be very active and noisy because they were a big group. But they were so quiet. o.o We divided them into three groups, one at the foyer, another at the agora and the last group at the basketball court. I was helping out in the basketball court. They were the biggest group yet they made the least noise. I took pictures of those being punished. Haha. Cute 1301s. :D

They're writing 'VERITAS VINCIT OMNIA' with their butt. xD

I better get back to my studies. Exams starts next Tuesday. Abigail, FIGHTING! :D
